Castor oil, extracted from the seeds of Ricinus communis, originates from India. Each seed contains between 40% and 60% oil. Of all the fatty acids in this oil, ricinoleic acid is the most interesting. Comprising 87% of castor oil, this fatty acid, unique to castor, is responsible for its therapeutic properties.

It was the medium Edgar Cayce who popularized the benefits of castor oil packs in America, but this oil with a thousand virtues was already used in ancient Egypt, 1,550 years before Christ.
